Huang Xirui (黄熙睿), personal name Huang Yao (黄遙) is the rightful master of Taohua Ge, the inheritor of its most sacred neigong technique Huasui Gong. Chronically ill, shameless, a slacker and a gremlin.

• Huasui Gong, a powerful neigong technique passed down in Taohua Ge, the true symbol of its leader. Can “scatter” his qi like flower petals, making him near-impossible to target, greatly enhancing his qinggong abilities. Passively the thing that keeps his illness at bay, though seemingly unable to completely cure it.

• Next in line to be the leader of Taohua Ge, a powerful sect known for their neigong and qinggong.
• Honestly a bit of a prodigy, learned everything very quickly, youngest ever to interpret and fully inherit the Huasui Gong from his father
• Struck with a strange and severe illness around age 10, effectively destroying any martial arts progress, though his neigong kept him alive
• His father died of a similar illness when he was 14, sending the sect into a succession crisis resulting in a schism. Taohua Ge became the Red and White factions, with Xirui's supporters on the Red side and the usurper, his father's shidi, becoming the White side.
• Due to the unclear nature of his father's death and the Taohua Chain, the symbol of their sect, being in the usurper's hands, the White faction took over and drove the Reds into hiding.
• Escaped with some sect elders and other loyal sect members, including his cousin Huang Jingran
• Has been raised with the understanding that he will one day go defeat the usurper and reclaim his sect, but he's not really in a hurry to do all that
• Meets Luo Deying and Yang Zhenqin and falls disastrously head over heels in love with the former while on one of his “side quests” (aka ran away from home again)

Luo Deying: Immediately wants the big himbo man for his wife but this proves harder than literally anything else has been in his LIFE

Huang Jingran: His right hand, his little baby cousin who is so mean to him and needs to stop having expectations of him please

Huang Ximing: Lowkey just feels bad for him.
