Xie Siblings
Xie Ruxian and Li Fengyu's children, listed in order of birth.
- As soon as they're old enough, Ruxian gets each of them a horse to raise from a foal and teaches them to shoot a bow
- Also acquires a personalized bow for each child once they finish growing
- Fengyu is in charge of their general education, partially due to her family background and connections, but mostly because she's best at being strict with basically any of them
- Murong Youning (their yifu) personally teaches them martial arts, even the girls, including basic empty-hand self-defense and bladework
- Their interests vary, but they all have basic competency in the important areas
- They'll probably have a bunch of half siblings somewhere down the line as well but I am Not doing that

- Apple of his grandparents' eyes
- Basically has three sets of grandparents?
- Very smart, very spoiled
- Also very very tiaopi; runs wild and gets away with almost everything, all of the time
- Has clearly inherited his parents' cunning as well as their scheming natures
- Quite sunny and cheerful despite being a tiny gremlin
- Very filial and dutiful; assists with his parents scheming as soon as he's old enough
- Becomes more subtle and reserved as he matures; a downright scary shadowy mastermind by the time he hits 20
- Tends to come off as a refined scholar type but is actually quite tough; significantly better wugong than his dad
- Particularly talented in painting and calligraphy

- The eldest daughter; charming from birth
- A horse girl
- The very epitome of a well-bred and well-taught young lady in her speech and mannerisms; particularly known for her grace
- Privately, extremely astute and quite sharp-tongued
- Will hold a grudge forever when offended
- Always impeccably dressed, accessorized, and made up
- Takes after her mother temperamentally; poised, alert, and thoughtful; also has her knack for detangling sticky social situations
- Learns languages easily; a polyglot
- Later marries a foreign princess for heqin; becomes rather taken with her within the first few months of marriage; eventually quite a passionate relationship
- Known for her dancing and swordplay; has a sword dance that is quite famous and very very difficult for anyone outside her family to see
- Honestly kind of a snob but aware of it

- The true scholar of the family; the daydreamer
- The quietest child out of all his siblings
- Absorbs and retains information very quickly; voracious for knowledge
- Grew up sitting at his mother's side and reading anything available
- Will talk political and social theory with his father late into the night but has little interest in actual court proceedings; has managed to affect policy changes anyway through debating with Ruxian and coming up with different solutions for the same problems
- Could be quite socially adept if he cared to be; emphatically does not
- As emotionally intense as his father, but more willing to let it show, if selectively
- Cultivates few but very deep friendships; the rarest Xie to befriend
- A poet with a sizeable following
- Will be a complete mess if he ever falls in love

- The premiere martial artist, the future general
- Yifu's favorite because he loves 2 sword
- Compact, speedy, and surprisingly strong
- Tends to wear his hair in a very very tall ponytail to seem more intimidating and make up for his height
- The most impulsive member of his family, prone to making split-second decisions; still his parents' child so he's usually right and can roll with it when wrong
- Generally sweet and irrepressibly cheerful, his default setting is “bright”. If he's not, there's cause for concern.
- Inquisitive and not afraid to get his hands dirty
- Basically grew up at the Murong manor as much as Jin Wangfu; often stayed over night and was usually tutored for a couple hours before bed by Murong Luyu
- Slowly fell in love with Luyu and became determined to give gege everything he deserves uwu

- The baby girl, the literal tiniest
- A precocious child who made some decisions about her life early on and stuck to them
- Generally decisive and stubborn, even for her family; once she's set her heart on something there's just nothing to be done for it
- Betrothed to Murong Lukai quite young because she'd already decided he was hers
- Spoils Lukai rotten after they are married, while handling the politics of his position for him
- A bubbly social butterfly, knows how to work a room to collect information and sow discord while looking like she's just fluttering around cheerfully
- Scheming and observant but maintains her image as an airhead for quite a long time
- Will ruthlessly destroy anyone who comes after her Kai-gege, quick and brutal and with a smile
- Tiny and terrifying, the match of anyone in her family
- Has mastered multiple musical instruments and sings well
