Yisha (懿殺) is an Imperially sanctioned covert assassin sect currently under the leadership of Xie Ruyu.
Founded to serve Imperial interests, the original Yisha hierarchy was competitive and based on strength alone, with ranks that increased in kill count while decreasing in available seats. Recruits worked their way up the ladder by defeating their predecessors in single combat. Under this system, Xie Ruyu climbed to the position of sect leader and eliminated the previous regime with the help of his cohort.
Giving the remaining members of the sect the choice to leave and pursue normal lives or stay to and help restructure Yisha with a new mission, Xie Ruyu abolished the existing hierarchy. The sect is now relaxed and informal with no ranks or recruitment, with members free to accept or decline missions and account for their own time.
