Victor Vargas

Victor Angel Rodrigo Cruz Vargas aka “Vic Cruz”, 44, SSA for the MIA; currently undercover as a wards & traps specialist for what amounts to a magical drug cartel.

Closest to his paternal grandparents, especially his grandmother, very tenuous relationships with his actual parents, who are not together, extremely awkward with his mobs of much younger half siblings on either side.

Height: 6'5''
Build: broad and athletic, moderately muscular.
Hair: very dark brown, coarse, curly, starting to be touched with grey a bit prematurely. generally kept a semi-fashionable but nondescript length/style, tends to look tousled. usually has a stubble beard.
Eyes: dark brown and very expressive.
Style: generally a t-shirt and dark-wash denim type of guy. has a beat up leather jacket he wears a lot. cleans up well when he has to but really really won't unless he really really has to. the kind of person who leaves the top three buttons undone when forced into a button-down. sometimes wears obnoxious mirrored aviators. only wears shoes he can run in.

• Has a talent for suggestion; it's not that strong but very subtle
• Is actually legit an expert in traps and wards
• Not that great at more offensive types of magic
• His ritual is flipping a coin or similar object over his knuckles in a specific pattern and/or a specific number of times. as a result he does this pretty much constantly when he doesn't need to do something with both hands to camouflage when he's actually using magic; for this cover his fake ritual is whistling
• As a side note, obnoxiously good at whistling but otherwise completely unmusical, do not ask him to sing at karaoke
• Physically quite strong & fast; very well trained in hand-to-hand combat and the use of various weapons

• Quick thinker, fast talker
• Default mode is flirty if he can get away with it
• In theory, doesn't care about gender at all; in practice, mainly goes for men because his type is 'broad and buff', a look which, for reasons he neither understands or agrees with, society does not encourage in women.
• Quite often comes off as slick or a bit smarmy; knows this and uses it
• Nothing ever seems to faze him (nb: actually he's just a really good actor and stellar at controlling his emotional responses)
• Willing to play fast and loose if it looks to get him what he wants
• Actually quite serious about work but does his best to never show that, sorry boss

• Mixed on both sides of his family, dad's side is primarily mexican and mestizo, mom's is south african, afro-carribean, and european spanish.
• Parents had him as teenagers and he was mainly raised by his paternal grandparents
• Both parents are now married to other people and have other kids; he doesn't have a lot of contact with either
• Hs grandparents are like super catholic so there's a lot he doesn't talk to them about but they do love him
• Has been with the bureau for about 20 years at this point?
• Probably has a big dog somewhere???
